What Is The Next Organic Berlin About?
The NEXT ORGANIC BERLIN is a specialized fair which provides a platform for outstandingly excellent food & beverages which have been produced as responsible and sustainable as possible. Together with different experts (please see below) novel marketing concepts for producers, retailers and gastronomes will be presented. Additionally, famous German chefs will showcase well-known brands while combining these with yet unknown but highly promising manufactured produce. The live-cooking will be accompanied by food and beverage tastings in a relaxed and informative atmosphere. By merging the old and the new, start-ups with old-established manufactures, and the regional with the international we aim at inspiring all involved parties in order for new food- and marketing-concepts to be developed.
The NEXT ORGANIC BERLIN aims at supporting new trends and forward looking ideas which take place in the food-sector. Moreover, the Next Organic Berlin provides a platform for the „next generation“ of progressive farmers, producers and retailers. At the Next Organic Berlin 2014 an inspiring atmosphere will be created through the ‘explorer room’ – where the latest trends of the ‘food/beverage-scene’ will be presented. Of course, the old-established regional, national and international manufacturers will happily inform you about their produce.
Even though the NEXT ORGANIC BERLIN aims at promoting regional and organic/ sustainable produce we are well aware of the fact that the best Parmigiano is produced in Italy – and not in Brandenburg. Of course we want the cow to be happy, a produce of excellent quality, and the farmer to earn a good salary.However, we are no dogmatists about organic/ethic food labeling as we know that many small manufacturers produce excellent gourmet food while keeping animals and the environment happy/ healthy while not applying specific labeling schemes to their produce. We try to incorporate sustainability goals wherever possible, e.g. by supporting regional produce we try to contribute to a positive economic development of Berlin and Brandenburg. Furthermore, by looking at the production method and/or the distance food has to travel from producer to consumer we try to promote environmental sustainability wherever possible.
What has not been said about this city? Poor but sexy, creative and chaotic, always changing, never boring, multicultural, noisy and green. In fact, Berlin the perfect melting pot for novel ideas and the trends of tomorrow. For us and our guests we want Berlin to be open for new ideas, friendly and relaxed, innovative and inspiring, responsible and committed.

Ever since 2000 AD various spices play an important role in shaping the specific flavor of national and regional cuisines on a global scale. In fact, it is possible to state that spices are among the most important ingredients when it comes to expressing specific nuanced characteristics of e.g. local delicacies. Even though many spices are well-known in the western hemisphere there are still many which are not yet to be found in the supermarket but definitely worth trying. Therefore, exotic spices will be one of the major topics at the Next Organic Berlin 2014. Our spice-ambassador MARCUS LIND will provide you with elaborate information on rare organic spice-mixtures and will be available for all questions you might have about the world of spices.
The rapidly growing craft-beer-scene, mostly dominated by young and innovative entrepreneurs, is currently coming up with fascinating new possibilities to combine and enjoy beer. In fact, the young stars of the scene are brewing beer which can be interpreted as a Hommage to long-established brands while at the same time are offering refreshingly novel beers which are as close to the Zeitgeist as it gets. The beer-ambassador SYLVIA KOPP – who is just about to open an academy for beer in Berlin – will be the number one contact for all questions concerning beer at the Next Organic Berlin 2014; and she knows what she is talking about!
For quite a long time coffee used to be a random substance which helped us to get up in the morning and to stay awake during meetings. Fortunately, the German pragmatism towards coffee is in the process of changing and an increasingly vivid coffee/ barista scene is what you will be discovering when walking the streets.
